This outfit is pretty much my uniform. Who doesn't love a good t-shirt? I think everyone should have a couple of favourite graphic tees in their wardrobe. They're a great basic that can convey personality. This shirt tells people I like Elton John, which is true, I do. But, it can go in all kinds of directions. They're great for a casual look, but what I love about them is how they can dress down some of your dressier clothes. For instance, pairing one under a blazer makes the whole look feel a little less businesslike. I bought these pants from Zara when I was itching for something to wear to work other than black or navy slacks. I got a couple of comments referencing clueless because of the yellow plaid, but they fit the dress code and spiced up my week. I'm still considering doing a work wardrobe series. I've never gotten a single comment on this blog but comment below if you'd like that to happen. Anyway, I find when you have a statement piece like this, especially in your work wardrobe, you can't get away with rotating it quite as often. I still want to get wear out of them though, so if I have to take a few weeks off from wearing them to work, I'll try to find a way to wear them in my off time. That's when the graphic tee comes in handy. You can mix it in with your work wardrobe, and there's your weekend look.
